The Hogar Brotes del Olivo was created in an initiative of a group of neighbors of the community of Tibás, who in 1984 in coordination with PANI (National Children Patronage) professionals assumed the project as a work of a social community.
It opens doors on May 8, 1988, constituting a temporary resource location for those children, who “by risk situations such as neglect, abandonment, abuse or death of a parent, should be separated from their biological family. “
The home houses ten children between 0 and five years and aims to give individual attention to facilitate their development as ordinary people. 50% of their financing comes from PANI and others must cover it with donations or activities organized to raise funds.
There are three ladies responsible for the care of children, a psychologist, and director. For the particularity of the ages of the children, they have many needs for personal care.
Children’s Home Blanca Flor, located in the community of San Francisco de Dos Rios. The director is called Guiselle Oviedo Rodriguez.
This is also the home to 10 children between 0 and five years.
It was founded in 1970, when Father Alberto Izaguirre, met three abandoned children. After several efforts, he finally arranges a group of ladies to accept the task of opening the first home for abandoned children and in social risk.
